Wherever You Are . . .That’s Where We Will Be

he journey is a difficult one, but it is not one that you have to travel alone.  Hospice of Queen Anne’s can join you on that journey ‑ wherever you are and whenever you most need it – to provide comfort and compassion along the way.

Reaching you wherever you are
– Hospice serves patients in their homes or the homes of a friend or family member in Queen Anne’s County, in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.  Soon, services will be offered at the residential Hospice Center located in Centreville, Maryland.


medicineMeeting physical needs
– Hospice of Queen Anne’s caresfor anyone who has any life-threatening or terminal illness with a prognosis of six months or less given the normal progression of the disease.  However, patients can remain in Hospice longer than six months if necessary.


emotionalSupporting emotional needs
Hospice social workers
provide emotional support andcounseling to help cope with thediagnosis of a terminal illness.  They assist in assessing patient and family needs and act as liaisons with community agencies.  Hospice volunteers provide companionship and when the end is near, Hospice offers vigil services nearly around the clock to support both the patient and the family.

Respecting spiritual needs
The non-denominational spiritual advisor to Hospice is available for spiritual and emotional support, regardless of your spiritual beliefs.


financialUnderstanding financial issues
– Most Hospice services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans.  However, no one is ever turned away.  This is made possible through the general donations of individuals, businesses, and organizations in our community.


comfortDealing with loss
– Bereavement counseling is a source ofindividualand family support. Home visits and telephone conversations are provided, as well as resource materials on loss and grief, grief management support groups, memorial services, school-based grief groups and bereavement camps for children and families.
